Almerich - CLASSIC LIGHTING & FURNITURE
Techniques
Since our beginnings in 1943, our main strategy has been to offer the best quality of both the materials we use and the processes used for their transformation.
Goldsmiths can be considered our predecessors in production. They elaborated religious objects or home utensils. We have always manufactured lighting fixtures and occasional furniture for homes, searching for excellence.
The lighting fixtures and the furniture that we produce are made up of many pieces that are manufactured individually with different particular processes.
All of our products have one thing in common: the outer metal parts are made of brass, which is also called “decorative bronze” (an alloy of 67% copper and 33% zinc).
Our production processes can be classified in two big groups. The first one includes all the mechanized processes used to make the pieces functional. The processes of the second group are the ones that are used for the decoration of the pieces so that they remain with the intended original “finish”.
The different brass parts and pieces are the result of different manufacturing processes. The smelting may also be carried out with different procedures. Depending on which piece and what quantity we want to produce, one process will be more adequate than another.
Las diferentes partes y piezas de latón pueden ser fruto de diferentes procesos de fabricación.
Not only do we use the different processes of smelting of brass, but also lamination, bending, engraving, inlaying, and hot or cold stamping.
The bronze metal parts are used in all of our products along with many other materials of completely different nature: glass diffusers of light of different types and origin, lampshades of different kinds of fabrics, porcelains, mechanical components as well as electric parts, etc.
Under this versatility, we keep one common nexus: all the materials and products used must be of top quality. We use brass instead of iron because it is more precious and it allows a greater range of finishes. The glass is hand-made following the “piastra” method. There are no two pieces identical to one another.
We are constantly searching for new materials following the trends of contemporary style.
We also wish to point out that from the design every single process is carried out in Almerich, in our premises located in the Industrial Area “Fuente del Jarro” of Paterna (Valencia). We can defend the Made in Spain, which is also equivalent to saying Made in Europe.
